Troy Regional Medical Center CEO Rick Smith announced recently that Kathy B. Hill has joined the Senior Administrative Team as chief financial officer (CFO), replacing Mike Myers who retired after having served in that role since 2016. Hill is responsible for overseeing all financial operations of the organization, including in-hospital and clinic services.

“We are so grateful for Mike’s leadership over the past several years and his contributions to Troy Regional,” said Smith. “Mike helped lead Troy Regional out of challenging financial times—and a pandemic that tested all healthcare organizations—to where we are today. His hard work and dedication have made a positive and lasting impact throughout the organization. We wish Mike and his wife Leesa the very best in his retirement.”

Smith said he and the Troy Hospital Health Care Authority Board, which oversees hospital operations, are confident Hill will be an asset to Troy Regional with her vast experience in financial healthcare. “We are very excited and fortunate to have Kathy join our team!” he said. “She comes to us from Southeast Health in Dothan where she served for 32 years, most recently in the position of corporate controller.”

As CFO, Hill is charged with overseeing patient business services, medical records, materials management and accounting. Statistical analysis, business model development and strategy, contract negotiations, budgeting and continuous financial performance improvements are other significant responsibilities.

Regarding her new position, Hill said, “I’m very excited to join Troy Regional and work with this great group of people! It is a privilege to have the opportunity to contribute to this rural hospital that serves so many needs of Pike County and surrounding communities. We want to provide the best healthcare services that we possibly can, right here close to home. I look forward to being a part of the community and becoming involved.”

Hill and her husband Jerry currently live in Rehobeth, but plan to relocate to Troy. They have three grown children, Mackenzie, a pharmacist; Bentley, an optometrist; and James (wife Robbie). They have two grandchildren, Leighanna and Gabe.
